Virtually from day one of my involvement in the online industry I have managed projects, at first on an informal day-to-day basis and then, as the complexity and scope of the projects increased, in a more structured manner.
Fluent in waterfall project management techniques and trained in AGILE methodology, I am a highly experienced, safe-pair-of-hands when you need someone to manage your project, end-to-end, whatever the complexity or budget.
Comfortable managing teams (in person or remotely), able to clearly communicate at all levels within a company - from board-level to lowly developers ;) – skilled in sourcing and negotiating with 3rd party service providers, I have an eye for detail and a keen strategic mind.
With regards to ongoing management of an exisiting online property, I enjoy managing iterative developments that deliver a return on investment and tangible improvements in user experience, customer satisfaction and the bottom-line. Examples of this kind of project would be rolling out additional or improved functionality, migrating to enhanced infrastructure, implementing better UI and content, or aligning with smarter marketing campaigns.
With my background in audio visual, graphics and information, moving into the online space 15 years ago was an obvious move. Over the years I have planned, design, coded and/or maintained probably over a hundred different websites, from “brochure” sites for small companies, recording artists and movie titles to large high traffic portal websites for international brands.
When I design or build a website it is always with a focus on user experience, optimised information architecture and best-of-breed functionality. Business websites are tailored to your company’s strategic requirements to ensure that they offer the highest possible return on investment, whilst at the same time being easy to maintain and update.
Having a website for your company or product is great – in fact, it should be a given. But it’s no longer enough to put it online and forget about it, hoping that it will attract attention simply by existing. You should regularly update the site with new content, not only so that your loyal customers have a reason to come back occasionally to check out what you’re up to but also to ensure that the search engines – Google, Bing etc - regu
So, maintaining a website, even for small companies, can become a full time job and you will need to either task someone internally to take on additional responsibilities, hire someone new or outsource this kind of work to a third party.
And that’s where I come in. I can help you define a “content marketing strategy” which will identify opportunities to spread your company’s message, increase the visibility of your products or brand and ultimately drive sales (or other "conversions").
This strategy will not only address the content plan for your existing site, but also look at bringing you a wider audience through the use of social media, existing communities, search engines and online advertising.
Beyond this, I am also help you to create the content for your site. I can write copy, shoot and edit video and record audio. I am also an accomplished photographer, shooting out of studios in High Wycombe and Reading.
